These are but a few of the lucky ones who have been rescued and rehomed. Many more thousands of greyhounds go unaccounted for every year. Yet the European Union is giving these grants to breed even more of these gentle and highly intelligent animals.

Others, like this greyhound, found in a Spanish olive grove are not so lucky. It is only one element of the travesties of greyhound racing in Spain. It is said that we in Britain are a nation of animal lovers. In my opinion, when it comes to the greyhound breed it seems that we tend to turn the other cheek.
