March 13 1997 saw the meeting with the Intergroup for the Welfare
and Conservation of Animals at the headquarters of the European Parliament
where I delivered a written presentation to the 80 or so members that attended.
This was a wonderful experience and one that I know I will never forget.

In June, I was privileged to have been given the opportunity to meet
with the Conservative MP, Mr. Roger Gale.
Mr. Gale is the Chairman of the "All Party Animal Welfare Committee" Our lengthy discussion resulted in a five-point proposal outlining the work of R.A.G.S. and our objectives. A full copy can be obtained by writing to the address shown and including a cheque or postal order made payable to R.A.G.S. for £1:50 to cover printing and postage. Mr. Gale has assured me that he will do everything in his power to help R.A.G.S. in any way. |

| Greyhound Forum |

October saw the forming of "The Greyhound Forum". This is a body of
organisations who are dedicated to finding a solution to the ever-increasing
problem of unwanted and abandoned greyhounds. R.A.G.S. was intended
to take its seat but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to decline the
invitation this time. More about the meeting in the next edition of
R.A.G.S. On Line.
